  1. From My Generation, Substitute and on through I'm A Boy, Happy Jack, Pictures of Lily and to the sublime I Can See For Miles, where the dynamic control from all the band is something to behold, especially Keith Moon and it is his playing that for me is such a revelation in these tracks/5().

  3. This album features the original band. The best rock drummer of all time (the late Keith Moon) the most respected bass player in the UK and much of the world (the late John Entwistle) plus the writing talents and guitar playing of Pete Townsend and the great Roger Daltrey's powerful vocals! For my money this is the best "The Who' compilation album/5().

  7. Apr 28,  · It is still the best, especially in the CD version, mastered by Steve Hoffman (known from audiophile labels DCC and Audio Fidelity). The only other best-of CD you need is Who's Better Who's Best. A track-by-track review: 1. I Can't Explain. This is the best version on CD you can find. True mono, powerful bass, punchy sound, almost no distortion.
  8. Jun 10,  · I thought "Pictures of Lily" and "Substitute" were the twin stereo holy grails for Who fans. I asked about both of them on another board full of very knowledgable Who folks a couple of years ago, and I was assured many times over that not only had neither track ever been issued in stereo, but that there weren't extant stereo mixes of either tune.
  9. Product Description. Out-of-print in the US. Originally released in , My Generation: The Very Best of The Who is an excellent introduction to the legendary Rock band and includes hits like 'I Can't Explain', 'I Can See for Miles', 'Baba O'Riley', 'Won't Get Fooled Again', /5().
