The only other best-of CD you need is Who's Better Who's Best. A track-by-track review: 1. I Can't Explain. This is the best version on CD you can find. True mono, powerful bass, punchy sound, almost no distortion.

I asked about both of them on another board full of very knowledgable Who folks a couple of years ago, and I was assured many times over that not only had neither track ever been issued in stereo, but that there weren't extant stereo mixes of either tune.
